a career as a professional musician. Since those early years he
has undertaken literally thousands of private parties & corporate
engagements at many of England’s most prestigious hospitality
venues including Claridges, The Savoy, Liberty’s Dept Store,
Café Royal, Anton Mosimann’s, The Ritz, Olympia, Cliveden,
The Hurlingham Club, etc as well as long-term residencies in several,
smart French & Italian Restaurants - all of which has equipped
him with an enormous and outstandingly-diverse range of world songs
& music as well as a substantial repertoire of ‘standards’
Following his theatrical debut as a ‘dep’ at the Royal
Shakespeare Company, Donald worked in the orchestras of several
theatrical productions ( both in rep on tour and in the West End
) of musicals such as: Calamity Jane, Piaf, Call me Madam, Cabaret,
The Boyfriend, Fiddler on the Roof, etc - concluding with an on-stage
performance at the London Palladium in La Cage aux Folles. He has
also been occasionally engaged as a Musical Director, most notably
in Terrence Rattigan’s The Sleeping Prince which starred Omar
Sharif
Ten years ago Donald further extended his musical horizons to become
a Bandleader and subsequently founded several ‘themed’
bands ( please see below for comprehensive details. ) Most recently
he formed the Don Ross Easy-Listening Ensemble - an ensemble which
offers ‘gently swinging background music played with style
and panache’ and which is perfectly suited to Private and
Corporate Events such as Office/Leaving Parties, Dinner/Cocktail
